It was on the evening of October 3rd, 2009, during our event, "Messages and Mediums"with Best Psychic Mediums Joanne Gerber, Rita Berkowitz and Janet Nohavec at The Journey Within Spiritualist Church in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, that I received an amazingly accurate message and spirit drawing of my father who passed in June of 2008, by Spirit Artist Rita Berkowitz.
Demonstrating as a medium alongside with colleagues for nearly ten years, I can barely count on one hand, the number of messages that I have received by a colleague medium during a demonstration in which I was a participant. Of course as mediums, we offer demonstrations to bring through messages from loved ones passed, with intention to reach as many as possible audience members. However, we also know that when spirit wants to communicate a message, they certainly find a way to do so.
As Rita closed her eyes, pencil in hand, she began to describe the physical description of an older gentleman passed, I could feel the energy of my father's presence. She continued bringing forth details, and simultaneously, began to draw his portrait. While sitting upon the platform, "downloading" messages from spirit for my turn next to give messages, I looked over at Rita, and saw that she was drawing a completely accurate depiction of my father's face, with every detail becoming more and more evident. She then began to reveal specific details about my father's personality, habits, and medical issues, validating without a doubt, that he was coming forth from the spirit side of life, to give me a message.
Although there were a few other audience members who raised their hands to try to claim this spirit communication, that did not stop Rita. Rita began revealing even more details pertaining to the communicator, working dutifully and respectfully, in an awareness of the importance of placing the spirit communicator with the correct recipient here on the physical. How are you? It was a pleasure meeting you on Saturday! Our father's name was William Ferrazzano ( he was 62 when he passed)and it was quite an unexpected surprise to see you draw him! Your drawings are magnificent and amazing! Your first drawing that day is our father without a doubt.
As you began your drawing, you said this gentleman had no patience in life and has no patience and wanted you to hurry and draw. I was saying to myself, that sounds like my Dad right from the beginning! You also said he didn't like cats. When we lived with him, we had a cat that used to attack us and him all the time and he couldn't stand it! We still have the cat, he will be turning 14 in June!
You mentioned that we would be getting higher learning degrees, we were supposed to be enrolled in college right now but we pushed it to the Spring. We are going for an accounting degree. You also mentioned his humour and entertaining personality. He loved life and everything it had to offer, he was also very intellectual as you mentioned. He could talk for hours about anything under the sun and knew a little bit about everything and was able to share his knowledge with others as if he had been studying that subject for years. You said he liked a glass of red wine, he certainly did! As you were drawing him, you mentioned how particular he was about his mole and the shape of his nose. That was very funny because he always used to poke fun at his nose and comment how bulbous it was and he really liked his unique nose!
The picture I had in my wallet was him in his 30's. It was a younger him but you can clearly tell that is the same man you drew! You will be hearing from us in the future!

Thank you again for today's reading! Today was the connection I needed to my beloved family and friends at a very low point in my life. I have always known that life goes on and it has comforted me over the years. I have had a reading before to connect with my dad but it was 30 years ago. Today gave me solid evidence for the others in my family who sadly are skeptics.
My grandmother wore simple house dresses. My grandparents had a vegetable garden and one day my dad was filming her with the old super 8 movie camera when she bent over to pick a veggie. Someone told her she was on camera and she snapped her body back up to a standing position. We all laughed about it for years how Nan showed us her rear end. When you said that she was showing you that she was full in the rear, I knew it was my grandmother and pictured her in the garden that day.
The woman with the letter "M" had me stumped for several hours. When you said it was not Mary but something more unusual, like Mattie... I still didn't have a clue. It wasn't until I drove to the store that it hit me! She is my best friend's sister. Her name is Madelyn but she went by Maddie. She was a regular at the salon where she dyed her hair red and then changed to blonde before she died. She was a nurses aid back in the early 80's. She was 5'4 and thin. We didn't spend a lot of time together but I was warmly greeted when I did see her. Her sister has been one of my best friends for 32 years and we're together once a week.

Good afternoon Rita
I met with you back in early February of this year for a session. It came at a pivotal time in my life, and the messages you relayed were amazing. The entire session was beyond my expectations, the opportunity to say good bye to a dear friend was a priceless gift, to say hello to my dear yaya (grandmother), to feel all that love around me, and to find out that my uncle was actually also my second cousin! (turns out he was not only married to my yaya's sister, his mother and my fathers mother were sisters!
I would never have known that but for your message.
The message you provided at the end of the session has sent me on a spiritual journey beyond comprehension. I had asked my spirit friends and family about my son Evan, who is 2 years old. The response was that someone was trying to take him away from me, and I had to fight. That just blew me away. I adopted my son from Vietnam when he was 6 months old. At that time I was involved in a relationship, that headed south very quickly after Evan came home. My ex partner suffers from borderline personality disorder, something I was not aware of until a month after our session in February. Our living situation became very bizarre.
I've been battling her in court(s) now for the past 6 months, with no end in sight. She is attempting to obtain de facto parental rights to my son. The events since February have not been pleasant, thankfully my spirit friends and family did not give any details of what was to come ;-) My friend Jo, who is very religious, is convinced that this is not a physical battle but a spiritual one. I lost my faith a month or so ago when everything seemed to be heading in a bad direction, basically I lost hope, which is far from my typically character/nature.
I realized that I had to pull myself out of that space for my son, who is an incredible little boy. I don't know what is going to happen, I just know that I have to continue fighting for my child. If not for their message back in Feb., I may have just given up and taken the easy route, allowing her to have custody 50% of the time. If that happened (or happens), it would be disastrous for my son.

Dear Rita,
We are writing to thank you so much for the time that you spent with us a few weeks ago.
We already had a strong "spiritual" belief before our reading with you. Dear Rita,
Thank you so much for the reading today. I can't tell you how much it meant to me that you were able to connect me to my son Martin. I was actually at his college with his best friends by my side doing some fundraising for his scholarship in his name. I feel so much better hearing from you that he died peacefully. I was always home at the time he died. I came home late from work that day to find Martin sleeping on the couch to then find out he was dead. I tried to do CPR and than the para medics tried but he was gone. He was so loved and was our shining star in our lives. As a single Mom he was the man around the house and just so full of love for all of us. He had epilepsy since age 16 but only seem to have 1 to 2 seizures a year and was on medication and was very well controlled. He died of sudden unexplained death in epilepsy. He was touched by angels in the weeks before he died and I believe he knew in his soul he would be leaving us. I miss him and cry for him alot. The grief for the last 8 months has been horrible. I don't know how to go on without him but I get through the day by the love of my girls and his friends. Rita I can't wait to see the drawing. Do you want me to send you photo's by email to see how it compares to what you saw. Your description to me was so him and the love part was so true. His legacy he left behind was one of loving everyone in your path like each day is your last. He was studying to be a broadway actor and his motto was "No Day But Today" as in his favorite broadway show RENT. I am surprised he did not have on a RENT shirt since his daily shirts were Broadway shows or Theatre.

You did a phone reading for me on March 10th of this year. During your reading where you talked about my son, you mentioned that he was looking at the sun and the moon and trying to connect the two together. At the time, neither of us could figure it out, but after I got off the phone with you, I discovered that the attached picture which I have on my coffee table, bedroom, his bedroom, my office and in the billiard room may be what he was trying to tell me. As you can see, it is a picture of my son (which I believe he must have taken of himself when he was about 12) with the sun behind him and the moon directly above the sun. I am responding to this E-Mail pertaining to a visit which Rita Berkowitz took the time to visit my home on January 11, 2002. When I spoke with Rita, I indicated that my Son was killed and did not give her any detail on the cause of death. When I indicated this to my husband Norman that we were going to have a Medium over to the house, he did not believe in the Spiritual World, I told my husband to have an open mind and to see what would transpire.
Rita arrived about 7:15 PM that Friday evening, and as soon as she walked into the kitchen she truly felt alot of energy and warmth thru the entire house. She felt at peace and she could sense that we had alot of family members who have passed on to the other side.
We started with an opening prayer in the kitchen and from there she went into the family room, the first person she made contact with was Norman's Father, Rita described his father to a Tee and how he sat in the recliner in front of the TV set. She felt how Norman's father died, and she mentioned certain things that no one would know about. Rita had a message for Norman from his father, and told Norman that he was sorry that he did not say goodbye and that he truly Love Norman and that he wanted Rita to hug Norman from his Dad.
The next person to come thru was Norman's Brother Billy, and she was also able to describe the way Billy died. Also, she informed us that his Dad & Billy were really upset on who got the car, and no one new the story. Prior to Billy's death, Norman and I gave Billy a car which was 1995 Crown Vic in the year 1999 which had only 34,000 miles and it was still like new. His brother was just so happy. Five months later Billy died, and the same day one of the other family members went into the garage and decided to keep it, without even consulting us. We were truly upset with this particular situation, and we finally got over it.
Finally, the moment we were waiting for was our Son Brian and Rita could not express the way Brian died. She keeled over and had truly change she was shaking and could not discuss it. I new at that point I needed to inform Rita that Brian was killed on 9/11/01 on the Second Plane which hit the Tower - United Flight #175. My concern was who was there to meet Brian when he was crossing over, and she described this Elegant Lady and what she was wearing. I new exactly who she was and she had passed on 5 Months before Brian, her name was Grace. Grace lost her husband 5 months before her death, and that is when our Son made himself available to take her to the bank and also do errands. Brian would check on her once a week to make sure that she was eating. It was after Brian's death that we became aware of what he did. Grace would tell people that she had a special Angel and that was our Brian.
Rita proceeded to go into the different rooms and could not believe the spirits which were present. At one point our chandelier in the dinning room proceeded to Blink and dimmer and that was a gift from Brian our Son. Also, we heard voices in the background & she described a playful little girl around 4 years old in our living room and that would be our daughter Kathleen who also crossed over 27 Years ago. Rita was totally amazed with all of my family members from the other side, she said it was like they were at a party.
When the evening ended we concluded with a prayer in a circle and we hugged each other. Rita left the house and Norman and I sat and talked about what had transpired with the messages which was given to us. We were both elated and filled with joy and love. It was by far the best day we had since Brian's death. We could not believe the specific details that were relayed especially from Norman's father & brother Billy. It proved to us without a doubt that Brian was with his grandfather and his uncle Billy and that they are all around us in such a spiritual way. I have shared my story with special people.
On March 30 I sat with Rita and she shared something about how Brian was murdered, and deep down in my heart, that is how I felt. Rita, said that Brian's was now on the other side to meet the people who was crossing over.
On July 11, I received a phone call from one of my customers who call to tell me that his son was killed on Tuesday Evening in a car accident and he was only 16 years old. When the hospital pronounce his son dead the first person who he thought about was my Son Brian and that he hopes that Brian was there to meet with his son who was crossing over. He told me that he feels Brian around him, and he never had the opportunity to meet my son. My son Brian was truly a special person and he was a gift to the universe. They even dedicated a square after him.

I just wanted to let you know that the portrait arrived on Friday, and it far exceeded anything I could have expected. It's just amazing!! Everyone who has seen it, cannot believe the level of detail in not only the facial features, but right down to the dresses the girls wore. You even managed to capture the individual character in the girls faces, and added such warmth with the shading. Thank you so much for this beautiful portrait, now I'm just looking for a frame that will do it justice!

My name is Michael Verdan and I had a spirit art drawing reading. A very close family friend came through who was into art...well a graphic artist. He gave you a difficult time asking you to first start with the hair and work our way down switching from charcoal to charcoal pencil. My question was , "What is the secret of the universe?" LOL Sorry just didn't have any questions to ask :o)
I just wanted to tell you that I had a wonderful experience with you. The drawing....uh yeah it's definitely Charlie. Told my parents and they were truly amazed thinking that I sent a picture of him to you so you can draw him. You definitely captured his image in your drawing TRULY AMAZING. I am going to look for a picture of him that matches the age in your drawing...well actually I am going to visit his parents in the very near future. They would definitely have a good pic of him. I will send you a copy when find one. But, not only was the drawing accurate so was the information. Just the detail alone in the information you gave me was validation enough.
Do you teach any classes in Sunnay Florida? I would really like to take your medium classes. I enjoy learning from other people in the field. I am trying to find a way to fine tune my mediumistic ability. I have been working with my spirit guides consciously since the early 90's. Well it's a part of my life. I work with inner sight, inner feeling, inner hearing, inner smell (at times). Which I am grateful for because it allowed me to communicate with Charlie after he transitioned. I've found on my journey on this path that you can never learn too much and there's always something new out there. If you don't teach in Florida then *hint* *hint*. We have more than enough sun for you here :o)

Dear Rita,
Last month I received my 2nd reading and color portrait from you. The day after it arrived, I had to leave St. Louis for New Orleans where I am painting and leading a group of painters on set-deck for the movie "Jonah Hex". This is the 1st quiet moment I've had, and I want you to know that the portrait you made of Randy is stunning.
I've pulled several pictures of him, and the likeness is perfect. The features are perfect. The hair is perfect. The hairline is perfect. The eyes are perfect. The shirt is perfect... I hadn't realized that he was so fond of that shirt... In all but 2 pictures of him he's wearing that shirt! The color is exact, and even the collar is open and rumpled in the same way. He looks a tiny bit younger, and way healthier. He looks happy.
One of my girlfriends burst into tears when she saw the portrait, and then experienced the same psychic chill that I experienced throughout your readings.
Your readings are wonderful, and have helped me a great deal in my grieving. I'd like to come flat out and say 'healing' rather than grieving, but I'm not certain that a complete healing will come to me in this lifetime. I feel as if a big part of me is completely missing (in my chest area where my heart used to be). I actually have the sensation of a gaping hole in this area of my chest; and an even larger part of me--my spirit--feels wounded beyond words. I miss him so much, and your readings and pictures bring those feelings into sharp focus; whereas, at the same time, your readings and pictures have enabled us to communicate again, and have given me hope to believe that I will be with him again, someday. They've brought me happiness. There are times that he seems to be so alive and immediate, thanks to you. These times are beginning to outnumber the times of feeling such bruised aloneness.
Randy and I have always said that we would both try to find a way to contact each other, if such a thing were possible, should the unthinkable happen.

Hi Rita ...I visited you in Sandwich (for the third time) with my cousin Vicki who had recently lost her sister Dawn ...I have to tell you ..that while Vicki was very emotional...you did make ME feel more comfort after her reading...you mentioned "smelling flowers and burnt toast"...in the car ...I asked Vicki what that could have meant...she said.."every time I visited Dawn ...I would bring flowers and english muffins because I was the only one that could make them the right way for her without burning them!!!!"....I wish she had allowed herself to open up while in the room with you...but all of us is different...
When you did my grandfather that day...you told me that there was something wrong with one of his eyes...that he would not allow you to use color so your drew a gray shirt and that there was two other people with him when he came to meet my cousin Dawn when she passed...one was my Uncle Max for sure..but I did not know who the "round" woman was who was making soup without using the cutting board to cut the carrots....".....I was only 18 when my grandfather passed away so did not know much about him ..other than he loved us dearly...so..that night I went out with my parents for dinner and told my mother what you had said. She said.."he was blind in one eye because he had gotten a piece of metal in it when he was younger and it bothered him all of the time"....and that he worked for a moving company and only wore gray and tan shirts...and that the woman making the soup must have been HER grandmother as she was ALWAYS making soup and stew when she was growing up....
SO .....there you have it...
Now ...I have a question for you ...I have several friends that would like readings and your next visit to Sandwich is not until the end of May...that is the weekend that we have our fundraising carnival in Plymouth for Friends of the Plymouth Pound.....so we would not be able to attend that day...

I attended last Thursday seminar in Rockland where you provided me with attached drawing titled IMG 5073 right at the beginning of the seminar.
At the beginning I was wrong in thinking that the old man was my neighbor who died in January. It was my good friend, trusted advisor and godfather Joe Beatrice. See attached picture of him 24 years ago holding my first born.
Joe was a healer and clairvoyant who told me before dying that he will be able to help me better after death which happened in 2000.
I am interested in learning more on your craft:
1. How could I know more about what Joe is seeing now
2. How could I learn to communicated with him and others
3. He used to tell me that I had a guardian angel throughout my life. How do I connect?
You informed last Thursday that Joe said that I am going through a lot of pressure (caused by a neurotic perfectionist manager in a new job). He also said that I need a brief vacation and that I like to do that in the ocean or mountains. I am planning to travel to my home country of Lima, Peru for 6 days vacation and plan to be in the mountains and ocean although it is winter there now.
He also said last Thursday that I am approaching a critical decision in my life. I submitted a proposal to my employer on an invention that Joe helped me uncover 30 years ago. If approved, it would be indeed the most important decision in my life. At the moment I do not know if it will be so.

Hello, Rita -
I hope this email finds you well.
My family and I returned home the 25th following my mother's services on the 24th and waiting for me in a stack of mail for the week was your sketch. As soon as I saw it, my jaw dropped. Between the specifics you gave in your reading - especially how my mother and father passed away, respectively - and your sketch that captured ALL of the individual, dominant features of my dad's face, I can't ask for anymore confirmation of the soul living on. The resemblance is uncanny. Not ONE feature is off or out of place. There is NO other explanation than...you did indeed speak with and "see" him. I shared your sketch with my wife, as well as with my father-in-law and mother-in-law and all of us stood there staring at your sketch in utter amazement.
Though most of the younger photos of my father are still at my parents' house, I did have one photo that I knew your sketch reminded me of immediately. So, I scanned in your sketch and positioned it next to a scanned copy of that photo. The photo is unfortunately quite grainy from being blown up from a small copy but I've also desaturated it so that it's more in line with your black and white sketch for comparison. The photo was taken in the early 1970s when my dad was in his early 50s. My father-in-law said, "It's as if you gave her the photo beforehand and asked her to sketch it."
This past 16 month period has been a very, very difficult one for me personally in having lost both of my parents but I have to admit to you, your reading and sketch were truly a gift. I know now that I mourn their loss for MY sake and that I cry myself to sleep because I will miss them being here in the physical. But I also now have the comfort of knowing that I WILL indeed see them again and that they ARE here in spirit watching over me. I want to thank you so very much for sharing your talent and gifts with others and in doing so, giving me, personally, so much inner peace and comfort.
